Provath aggregates company and financing information from publicly available records. Most data we hold is about companies, not individuals. This policy explains how we handle the limited personal data we process — names and roles appearing in public filings, and the contact details a company representative chooses to submit through our self-service forms.
We process personal data in line with the law that applies to the data subject and the company in question, including the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Brazil’s Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), and general privacy best practice elsewhere. Publicly sourced records are processed on the basis of legitimate interest in maintaining a research database; contact details you submit are processed on the basis of your explicit consent.
When a company representative submits contact channels (email, phone, WhatsApp, Telegram), we require an explicit attestation that the submitter is authorized to publish those details, and we record a consent audit entry containing the time, the submitter’s IP address, exactly what was consented to, and the applicable legal regime. Submitted channels are never published automatically: a human reviewer verifies the submitter’s affiliation (via the LinkedIn proof provided) before anything goes live. Each channel is published with the specific contact intents the company opted into; intents not selected are shown as explicit “do not contact for” instructions.
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise any of these, use our data request form. We verify the requester and respond within the timeframe required by the applicable law.
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the research database and for our legal obligations, and we keep an immutable consent and verification audit trail to demonstrate compliance. Removed contact details are soft-deleted and excluded from all public views.
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, use the data request form. For non-personal data corrections or site bugs, use the issue reporter. See also our disclaimer & terms.
